Postcards and panic

Okay, it seems that I’ve finally buried my hopes of posting interesting DIY-projects weekly, so let’s just forget about it..)) However the idea of Insane-freelance-illustrator-whatโ€™s-up-list has a chance to stick because today I’m doing the second post of my what’s-up-stuff! I’ve been very busy lately procrastinating doing all the commissions and panicking preparing for the Arsenal Book Festival *I got in, yay!* but now I have a couple of minutes to breathe out and tell you whatโ€™s up with Zhe? ๐Ÿ™‚

1. Three days ago *ok, I’ve started writing this post a few days back so that’s not true – it’s nine days now))* I celebrated my birthday! I’m not a fan of huge parties and all of the attention to my humble person, so I’ve just had some champagne with my best friend at 10 AM *check!*, then walked around the city without any apparent reason and came home for a nice and warm b-day dinner with my sister and parents. My sister baked a cake for me shaped as Captain America’s shield!))) Well, it was a very nice day)

My not-so-usual Saturday breakfast ๐Ÿ˜‰

2. What’s next… I’ve printed the first 2 packs of my postcards! I’ve managed to squeeze two of my designs into the huge batch made for offset printing so now I have 500 cards of cats and dogs!

How am I going to sell them all??!))

That sounds – and looks! – insane for me) But that brings me to the next point…

4. I finally got accepted to take part in the Arsenal Book Festival 2016! I’m happy and worried at the same time. Happy because I get a free entrance *haha* and worried because I don’t know what to sell!))) *laughs and cries and laughs and cries* Seriously.) Well, except for the cards from the previous paragraph – just because I already have them) However, few days ago I suddenly realized I don’t want to print all that stuff I printed last year – even including the “sequels”. I can’t treat Arsenal only as a marketplace – I need to surprise people! Make new cool stuff and show my creative progress year by year. That decision immediately created a huge problem in my mind but still I’m gonna stick with it. I have a few new ideas already but almost no time to implement them – but I’ll definitely try. Tiny sneak peek: there will be monsters!)) ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s not the monster I’m gonna create, but I just thought a small monster visualization is needed ๐Ÿ˜‰

5. Ok, now I need the 5th point again… Oh, I know! I painted a wall yesterday!)) I mean, not like with solid color but with a cute pattern – and it’s a wall in the new bookshop! So that’s a double delight. ๐Ÿ˜‰ It was my first experience in painting walls with patterns and I frankly admit: I suck at it.)) I wasn’t able to set up the projector properly so had to design pattern part by part – and ended up with an uneven ornament.(( But I hope the visitors will see the whole picture and not some specific imperfections) The bookshop will open in a week so I’m not gonna show you pictures now – but I’ll definitely show the whole design of the place later! Can’t wait to see everything together. ๐Ÿ™‚

Luckily, I’ve managed to fill all 5 points so no pangs of conscience for me today!) just another night full of work-work-work – and hopes that great things are coming! And I know they are. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Liebster Award, here’s Johnny!

I meant “Here I come!” – but that “Johnny”-thing sounded so dramatic, I couldn’t resist)) ๐Ÿ˜›

Recently I’ve been invited to take part in the blogging challenge called “Liebster Award” – a cool way for beginners *like me!* to declare themselves in the WordPress community and for all of us to get acquainted with interesting blogs all around the world. I was nominated by the charming Olivia – you need to check out her blog! Not because I just have to mention the person who nominated me, no – her journal is a real delight independently of that. A fan of coffee, books and stationery – she’s made her “Olive Garden” a super cozy place to hang out at! Therefore, don’t miss it ๐Ÿ™‚

So, Liebster Award – what does it mean? It means I have to answer 10 questions Olivia came up with and then invent my own 10 questions for a few fellow bloggers to answer. Let the fun begin!

1 . How did receiving the Liebster Award make you feel?

It’s an award – seriously, AWARD – I felt great! ๐Ÿ™‚ Although that’s just an answer-question thing, but still – they named it right)) And now I have a badge – an award AND a badge! *dancing*

2. Why did you start blogging?

Three reasons: promotion, language practice and oh-my-life-is-so-boring-I-have-to-do-something!

3. What is your blogging inspiration?

Likes&comments – yeap, I’m that kind of person)) I like this feeling when I know that someone from the other corner of the world actually read my post) *or didn’t actually read it but still pressed “like” – that counts too)*

4 . What do you like to do when you have absolutely no other obligations?

Watch movies! I’m a big cinema-fan so a non-stop movie marathon is a perfect choice.)

5 . Who is your favorite fictional character?

That’s a tough one…) Remus Lupin, I guess.

6 . Which song would you choose as your lifeโ€™s soundtrack?

Man, it gets harder and harder) How can I choose one song??) Let me think… Cat Power “The Greatest” – and I don’t know why) ๐Ÿ˜›

7 . What would you change about yourself if you could?

I’d get rid of my anxiety – it really exhausts me sometimes.

8 . What do you like about yourself?

My sense of humor) and… no, just that))

9 . What is the first thing on your bucket list?

Don’t really have it – not sure that there’s something out there I would hugely regret not doing… I’m boring) Visiting Iceland maybe?..

10 . Where is your happy place?

“My legacy” by Anastas Branica. *And if you haven’t read “Sitniฤarnica “Kod sreฤ‡ne ruke” by Goran Petroviฤ‡ you really should! Hope there’s english edition printed already*

Phew! Now it’s time for me to post my questions are here they are:

  1. How did you end up blogging? ๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. What inspires you to write posts?
  3. Do you see yourself still blogging in 3 years?
  4. Books or movies? Tom or Jerry? “Star Wars” or “The Lord of the Rings”?))
  5. What fictional character would you drink a cup of tea with?
  6. What period of history you would like to live in?
  7. What’s your ratio of virtual vs. real life?
  8. Where did you last travel to?
  9. Where do you want to travel in future?
  10. Describe your perfect morning.

I proudly nominate Kritika, Daniel, Amanda and Kevin to join me in this interesting challenge! Feel free to refuse but if you accept it I’ll eagerly wait for your answers and read them with great pleasure ๐Ÿ™‚ *and please leave a comment here whether you’re accepting the nomination or not*

Cheers!
